The Menopause Maze: The Search for Something That Works

There’s a time in many women’s lives — sometimes a moment, more often a long stretch — when things just feel… off. Focus disappears. Patience thins. Sleep becomes a stranger. Anxiety takes up more space than it should. And through it all, life keeps asking more of you. Work deadlines, parenting, caring for aging loved ones, keeping up appearances — none of it pauses for perimenopause.

So, like so many women, you start trying things.

A new supplement. A tea that promises hormonal harmony. Some breathwork at lunch. Intermittent fasting. That menopause gummy an influencer swears by. Maybe a round of HRT — then off again when it doesn’t sit right. Then maybe back on. All the while, the symptoms shift, evolve, or stubbornly stay put — and you’re left wondering: Am I getting anywhere at all?

It can feel less like progress and more like a hamster wheel — running fast but never arriving.

This isn’t just your story. It’s one shared by millions of women around the world — all navigating this same exhausting loop. The wellness industry has exploded in response, flooding the market with products promising relief from brain fog, low mood, sleep disturbances, and more. And yet, most of these offerings aren’t backed by solid research. They’re beautifully packaged, easy to access, and constantly showing up in our feeds — but that doesn’t mean they work.

And it certainly doesn’t mean it’s your fault for trying them.

The real problem? Women have been left to figure it out alone. In the absence of comprehensive, personalized care, we turn to what's available. We experiment. We hope. And too often, we’re let down.

We’re here because we believe women deserve better than “hope in a bottle.” You deserve real solutions, grounded in science and shaped by the reality of your experience.

We founded Natural Menopause Research on the belief that this shared experience deserves better options—more than just Menopause Hormone Therapy (MHT). Women need real, evidence-based alternatives, grounded in science, shaped by nature, and centred on individual needs.

Right now, we’re leading clinical trials on a botanical formulation designed specifically to support the psychological symptoms of perimenopause — including anxiety, brain fog, and low mood. This isn’t about quick fixes or trendy promises. It’s about offering something truly different: rigorous research, validated results, and real choices.

A Moment from the Road

As I write this, I have just taken part in the Nike After Dark Women’s Half Marathon in Sydney — a global run created to highlight women’s visibility, safety, and connection. In cities around the world, women are running through the night — not just for sport, but to reclaim space, to move together, and to shine light where it’s most needed.

It feels like a perfect metaphor. Because menopause, too, can feel like a journey through the dark. One that’s isolating. One where direction is hard to find. But just like this race, it doesn't have to be something you face alone.

Let’s stop settling for flashy promises and start asking for more. Let’s talk openly about what’s being sold to us — and why. Let’s build a new path forward, one backed by science, community, and care.

The maze doesn’t have to be endless. The wheel doesn’t have to keep spinning. There is another way forward. And we’re building it — together.
